Oral equipment refers to various small portable tools used in dentistry, internationally known as dental instruments. Oral equipment includes dental handpieces, oral handpiece sterilizers, extraction forceps, dental elevators, dental excavators, and other surgical instruments, manual dental instruments, dental rotary instruments, dental syringes, and endodontic instruments.
Oral equipment is a component of medical technology equipment. Internationally known as dental equipment, it refers to various devices, machines, instruments, and accessories specifically produced and/or provided for qualified personnel to use in clinical dentistry and/or its related procedures.
The classification of oral equipment, taking the dental materials/oral materials equipment network as an example, is divided into two main categories based on "nature": public equipment and specialized equipment. The latter also includes equipment for oral medicine, oral surgery, oral rehabilitation, and orthodontics.
Working principle of oral equipment
Turn on the air compressor power switch to generate compressed air with a pressure of 0.5mpa~0.7mpa for the handpiece. Turn on the control switch of the base, ensuring that the water source, gas source, and power supply are all connected. Turn on the power switch of the cold light surgical lamp to illuminate, and pull the three-use gun arm on the instrument tray, pressing the water and gas buttons respectively. This will produce a spray of water and air; if both buttons are pressed simultaneously, a mist of water can be obtained to meet different treatment needs. Pull the high-speed or low-speed handpiece arm on the instrument tray, press the foot control switch, and the compressed air and water will pass through the respective control and valves of the air and water systems to reach the handpiece, driving the turbine to rotate, thus rotating the dental bur to achieve tooth drilling. While the bur rotates, clean water is sprayed from the handpiece to reduce the temperature generated during tooth drilling. Release the foot control switch to stop the rotation of the handpiece, allowing the doctor to choose between high-speed or low-speed handpieces according to treatment needs.
